See the diagram below (View W). There should be an adjustment for cable length/tension where the two join together

Emergency brake does not hold and failed inspection, I dont want to spend alot of money to repair, manual says emergency brake is self adjusting. What can I expect to pay for a repair and/or is there any tricks to readjust the current emergency brake? Thank You

You can check adjustment but you may want to check the shoes first. Your truck uses the same shoes for rear braking as for the parking brake so if the rear brake shoes are low then the parking brake can not hold properly either.

ADJUSTMENT

1. Remove the rear disc brake rotor.
2. Using Brake Adjustment Gauge D81L-1103-A or equivalent, measure the inside diameter of the drum portion of the rear disc brake rotor.
3. Adjust the parking brake adjuster screw until the outside diameter of the parking brake shoes measures 0.020 in. (0.508mm) less than the drum measurement.
4. Install the rear disc brake rotor.
