My idler tension-er pulley is mounted onto what? Because whatever the pulley is mounted on, has a crack, and it is causing my belt to angle a little bit and makes a chirping noise because it is not aligned right.

Hello, I am Danny.

The belt tension-er is a spring loaded unit that is self contained. It is possible the body itself is worn/cracked/defective. I have attached a few tutorials showing how to remove the serpentine belt to remove, and how to remove the tension-er itself. It is mounted to the engine block with two bolts. I have also attached a picture of what the tension-er looks like. It will help to have a serpentine belt removal tool. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
