I noticed just recently that my car when stopped at stop sign or signal its rpm goes up and down between 1K and 2K, and sometimes the engine dies. Is it because of cold weather as it was 24 F that day, please let me know what am I seeing?

Hi Swapnil,

It is the idling circuit malfunctioning and possible causes are:
1. Lack of coolant in radiator system.
2. Idle Air Control valve stuck due to cold weather.

If the problem does not reoccur, it should be nothing to worry about. If it returns, get the throttle body and IAC cleaned up.
