Today I was in 1st gear and shifted just at 4,000 RPM to 2nd gear. Right before I shifted my car hesitated alot at that 4,000 mark. Once I shifted into 2nd I ran the car again just at 4,000 rpm and the same thing happend. Strong hesitation. The only way the hesitation would stop is if I let the RPM drop down under 4,000.

This has never happen before and I usually shift my car just at 4,000 rpm. The car is babied and not used for any racing. I am more of a grandma driver than anything.

Hi hucableguy,

A grandma driver would shift below 3000 rpm. What you are experiencing is hesitation at a high rpm and there are many possibilities.

It could be a clogged catalytic converter, insufficient fuel supply or bad spark plugs and related components.
