My engine is revving when im sitting still what could be the cause of this?

Hi caprock,

Surging are due to excessive air getting past the throttle body and possibilities are :
1. Idle speed too high.
2. Faulty Intake Air Control valve.
3. Vacumn leakage.
4. Clogged coolant hoses to IAC or lack of coolant in cooling system.
