I have a 1997 Honda Accord 5 speed, I recently hit a curb which lead me to have just about everything replaced from the axcel, spention bar, arm, spindel, bearings, struts. Just when you think the worst is over I am facing another problem. My car takes forever to go into gear, I did not have a problem with the clutch when I hit my car took off with full power as soon as you placed your foot on the gas pedal. I am being told that I need a clutch although I keep telling everyone that when the man worked on my car I seen him empty out the gear oil from the bottom of my car, I know he never replaced it because I caught him telling someone he did not know exactly how to put it back in. OH MY GOD I told him leave it alone I will take it to someone who knows. Well my problem is everyone I take it to seems to have difficulty hearing me say I saw the man take out the fluid all they are interested in telling me is that I need a clutch. Ok if I do need one fine but why wont they replace the gear oil as I requested? Please tell me how to replace it myself and then I will look into finding an honest person to work on my car I have put so much money these past few months

Hi adormy,

The problem seems to be the clutch that is bad and needs to be replaced.

To fill the trans fluid, remove the filler nut on side of trans near the CV shaft With vehicle level, fill till oil is level with plug hole.
