XLT Sport model. The SUV shut off after turning down a road. Power steering and engine turned off. Parked car and gave it a minute and it would crank but would not start. All the electronics still work. Tried resetting the fuel inertia switch and that did not help. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

To start, either fuel or spark must be missing. The easiest way I have found to determine which is the problem is to see if it will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then it is a fuel related issue. If it does not then check for spark to the plugs.

Here is a link for a no start situation:

Next, if there is no spark or fuel, check the EEC relay in the power distribution box under the hood. Switch it with one with the same part number.

I attached a picture of the fuel pressure requirements if you need them.

Checking for spark:

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe
