A couple of months ago. Our car would, upon starting shut off after about 2 seconds. We could turn the key off then start it again and it would continue running. It has been this way for a couple of months start, shut off, restart, run. This morning my wife was leaving for work and told me she couldn't get it to start. I went out to try and had to do the start shut off restart 6 times in order for it to start. The weather is getting considerably cooler and I believe this is having further impact on whatever part is acting up to make it act worse. Any ideas? Ignition? MAF sensor? Fuel pump relay?

Good morning,

With it stalling after 2 seconds, it sounds like security. Does the theft or security light go off the key on after about 10 seconds? Try the reset in the guide below.

Are there any codes set in the system?

Here’s a video of how it acts of me starting it each way and the dash lights. If I start it normally it shuts off in 2 seconds. If I hold the key back for a few extra seconds it stays running.

Good morning,

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view. I circled 2 wires that you need to check for power with the key in the on position.

This sounds like the ignition switch is the issue. I attached the procedure for you for the replacement as well.
