When I got to work yesterday I pulled into my parking space. I tried to back up to straighten out and my truck would not go back. It goes into reverse and would move a few inches them come to a complete halt. It will also drive forward. Can you tell me what might be the problem?

If you put it into revere and it doesnt move I had the exact same problem pulled into my drive way put my fishing stuff into box got into truck went to put into reverse and nothing. Truck was like it was in park reeved up but didnt move. Found out that snap ring broke and was sitting in pan. Bad news it cost me 1500 dollars to get fixed and dont keep driving you will take the rest of transmission out hope this helps you.

Thanks for the update on this. That is great information. Normally this is either a pressure issue (cut seal) or a broken component that is specific to reverse.

The way to find this is to first test the pressure in the unit with the info below. Then to drop the pan as you did and find what is in the pan.

Please let us know if you have other questions but thanks for the update as that is good information.
