The first problem that started was the ignition/key entry, when I go start the van the ignition doesn't seem to be lined up and the key will not turn over to start the motor. But eventually it does turn over, but I have to mess, jiggle, and turn the wheel. Secondly, and mainly while driving, when the car comes to a stop and when I fo to take off the engine dies. After 3-6 tries at restarting the van I am the able to actually take off. But that is when the motor dies, at initial acceleration. Autozone diagnostic read an ECM failure. Does this sound correct?

It depends on what the code is, but it is possible. What could be happening is you have an open circuit on the circuit board of the PCM and there are times that it makes contact and closes the circuit, so everything operates.

So, to check the operation of this, we need to check the output on the PCM for the starter circuit and the ignition feed circuit.

What I would do to start is check the ASD circuit at the coil when you are cranking the engine.

If there is no power, then this could be a PCM or relay issue.

Also, if you can provide the actual code, they are getting then we will have a better idea what the issue could be.

Please run through this info and let me know if you have other questions and what you find.

Thanks
