I was driving went to slow down and then proceeded to speed back up when I heard a pop and then it wouldn't pull.

Car listed above is a C model.

Hi,

A popping sound followed by a loss of power could indicate an engine misfire. This occurs when one or more cylinders fail to ignite the fuel-air mixture properly. Misfires can be caused by issues such as faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, or fuel injectors and will cause power loss.

Also, a sudden pop and loss of power could also be related to a problem in the intake or exhaust system. For example, a disconnected or damaged intake hose could result in a loss of air pressure, leading to power loss. Similarly, a blocked or restricted exhaust system could prevent the engine from breathing properly and result in reduced power.

The popping sound you heard could be associated with a timing chain. If the timing chain breaks or slips, it can cause the engine's timing to become out of sync, leading to a loss of power.

Has the vehicle started running normally again? If not, what happens when you start it now? Last, is the check engine lamp staying on with the engine running? If it is, we need to scan the computer for codes.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

joe
