I have a 2001 Chevy Impala. I just bought it about 3 months ago. It has a little over 150k miles on it. It has been running great and I have put about 5k miles on it since I purchased it. It has given me no problems until this past week. It started making a noise, almost sounding like an additional rev to my engine. It only makes noise when I am going above 10 miles an hour. Once I begin to slow down below 10mph it is completely quiet. I don't have any indicator lights on and I check all the fluids. Everything seems to be in order. Anybody have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

It sounds like it could be the throttle position sensor. However, I can't be sure if the check engine light isn't on. Does the engine actually rev or just sound that way?

If there is no light, we may have to wait until the problem gets bad enough to set a light, unless you feel it is unsafe to drive.
