I have a 2007 Mazda Verisa. The car just shut off on me while driving one day. The check engine light was on but the car had no obvious problems other than the radiator needing to be changed. I went to a mechanic they told me that my starter was bad. I changed the starter car still not working. They did a diagnostic check nothing came up so the mechanic checked the car again said that the fuel pump may be bad and that the spark plugs were rusty. Again, I changed the fuel pump and serviced the entire car it's still not starting. I want to know what should I do next because the mechanic isn't seeing any issues and I'm lost because I have not the slightest idea of how to fix a car.

Hi,

I'm not sure what is actually happening. Does the starter engage and turn the engine, but it doesn't start? Or, does nothing happen when you try to start it?

If the starter engages, we need to determine if there are spark and fuel to the engine. Here are three links to help. The first reviews a crank no start condition. The next two explain how to check fuel pressure and ignition spark.

If the starter isn't working at all, take a look through this link:

Let me know what exactly is happening. Also, let me know if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,
