My wife drove the car to the doctor we had no problems, until now. But it would turn over but not start. Two days later we went back and it started and I drove it home well the next day it wouldn’t start again. I replaced the crank sensor still nothing I then took out the fuel pump tested it, it ran fine I put the fuel pump back in drove to church it sputtered then shut off. After church I tested the fuel pump again it ran fine I put it back in it crank up and I got two blocks it shut off again. I’m about at my wits end. Please help.

Hello, sorry to hear about your issue. You're going to have to see if it's actually fuel pressure dropping off while the car is having its problem. It's a matter of determining what you're losing during the malfunction, either spark or fuel pressure. Having a fuel pressure gauge on there while its not starting will tell you the tale, fuel pressure spec is 47psi. There could be a bad connector at the fuel pump that's loose and working sometimes and other times its not . But test the pump when it's installed in the car, bench testing it is not sufficient. It needs to be a loaded test with the proper voltage applied at the connector. Let us know what else you find.

If you are able with a scan tool to look at the live data stream, this would be very helpful in determining what's going on. I would have the engine computer scanned for diagnostic codes as well, just to see if there's anything stored in memory. A code can give you a better idea of what the computer is doing, and the reason for the stalling issue.

I’ve got a obd2 scanner and no codes are showing. I tested the pump while it was in the tank and nothing. Then I did a ohm test and it showed nothing. So I guess my next thing is going to be to replace the pump. I’m just trying to find one under $500.00, lol.

You didn't have any pressure on the fuel pump test? If you had no pressure at all you're going to want to make sure the pump is getting power and good ground before condemning the pump.
