I recently had my timing belt replaced and after a few weeks my idle has gone from 1000-200 rpm.
Before the replacement the idle was at 1200, I returned it to the mechanic and of course he says nothing is wrong. It has never cut off when idling but a few times when I cranked up, it just cut back off. I retried and it cranked again with no problem.

Sorry, I'm having a hard time understanding your problem.

Are you saying your car used to idle at 1000rpm, and now it idles at 200rpm and cuts out?

When you are driving it, does it feel normaly? Regular power is there?

Somebody may of played around with your idle screw (which is not supposed to be touched) and possibly that is why your idle is real low. BTW recommended idle for those engines is around 800rpm.
