The A/C was evacuated before timing belt replacement. How much oil do I need to add before refill it. What kind of oil and are there any a/C parts needs to be replaced?

Thank you

Good afternoon.

When the Freon was recovered, how much oil was recovered?

I suggest replacing the receiver/dryer assembly since the system was open to outside air.

I would add two ounces of oil to the system if you replace the dryer.

Use Pag 100 oil.

Why did they remove the compressor?

I have never removed the compressor in the dozens of timing belts I have replaced on this model?

If the lines were opened, then yes. Once outside air gets into the system, it contaminates the bag in the dryer.

Only the person who recovered the Freon can tell you. If they used a machine, as they should have, they should see the oil in the tank that was recovered.

Generally, there is little or no oil recovered but every system is different.

It is done through the machine that is doing the evacuation and charge or you will need an oil kit from a parts store. It looks like a caulking gun and attaches to the oil bottle. You will inject it into the system after you vacuum it for forty minutes, add the Freon after you add the oil.

Under the hood it says refrigerant 1.125 LB is this the max charge? Is there another way to inject oil beside using the tool?

That is the exact amount of Freon that needs to be added for the system to work correctly.

No, there is not. You need that tool. A parts store will have this for you.

No, use 134. Substitute Freon do not work well at all.

Pag oil is good.

Okay, I think you misunderstood, sorry.

At Walmart they have Pag 100 oil in compressed can of 3 oz. In one can there are 1 oz of R134, 1 oz pag 100 and 1 oz of ice 32 performance enhancer. Can I use two cans of those instead to use the tool to inject oil which is expensive for my budget? After I will add 16 Oz of R134.

Okay, sorry.

Do not use the performance enhancer, just the 134 with oil.

If you are using cans to fill the system, just add one can with UV dye.
