I recently replaced the engine in my vehicle listed above. Same exact engine that was removed. The truck had been sitting for about five years. I test drove it and shifting through gears went well in all five gears. When I tried to test the four wheel drive it would not go into 4H but will go into 4L. When I take it out of four wheel drive to 2H, it seems to me as if it is stuck between 4H and 2H. Also, after the first run of about quarter mile, the speedometer stopped working. What might be my problem?

The four wheel drive not shifting correctly indicates a fault with the transfer case and most such cases are due to excessive wear of the 2-4 shift fork, resulting in incomplete engagement.

Speedometer not working could be due to a fault with the speed sensor and diagnostics would be necessary to confirm the cause.
