WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE PROBLEMS?

I HAVE A 2001 DODGE DURANGO. WHEN I TRY TO START IT WHEN ITS BEEN SITTING OVER NIGHT(SINCE IT GOT COLD OUT) IT BRIEFLY STARTS THEN SHUTS OFF.

THEN I TRY AGAIN AND IT DOES THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SO THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT GOING IS TO LIGHTLY PUSH DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL WHILE I TURN THE KEY AND CONTINUE TO DO SO AS I PUT IT INTO DRIVE THEN DRIVE. FURTHERMORE AFTER THAT IT MAY SHUT OFF ONE OR TWICE AGAIN WHEN IT BECOES IDLE IN THE FOLLOWING FEW MINUTES.
