2000 Dodge Neon shift problems

Transmission wont shift into reverse until gas pedal is stepped on and revs really high when shifting into second then wont shift to third

Code says torque converter clutch solenoid could it be that the solenoid went bad

The solenoid could be bad but wouldn't cause the problem you are having. As it is not shifting into third means the trans is in limp mode so there are some underlying problems with it. Probably a transmission control module.
