2003 Dodge Neon downshifting

My transmission shifts up fine but when downshifting from 30mph to 25mph it slams into gear what could be causing this and is it and easy fix or major.

Hey mrbill1323, this question is over a year old but what ever became of your Neon?

My 2003 Neon is experiencing the exact problem.
