I have the vehicle listed above. The check engine came on and auto store said I need an 02 sensor for bank 1. Do I need to buy 1, 2 or 4? I've been getting so many different answers. I really appreciate your assistance.

Good afternoon,

Can I please have the code? If it was for an O2 sensor, it may not be the sensor at all.

I attached the location of the sensors for you. You only replace the one you need.

This is what was written for me P0420 - catalyst system bank 1 02 sensor part #15651. I was told to buy 2 because they are a pair, I was told to buy 4 because if I needed 1 soon all of them will need to be replaced, I was also told to get a kit, and I was also told to get just 1. So I need to pass emissions lol I found the part number for half the price the quoted me at their store so I just need to know if I need to know how many I need to buy.

Also thank you for answering :)

Okay, first, the code is for the cat converter. The efficiency is too low and is worn out. It is not a code for an oxygen sensor at all.

The rear catalytic converter has to be replaced. I attached a picture of the part from rock auto for you to view.

If you install a oxygen sensor, the issue will still be present. I do not want to see you purchase something you do not need.
