Hello

I purchased a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Recently the check engine light has come on weekly with all 4 cylinders misfiring, and random misfire. The garage has replaced the crank shaft sensor, spark plugs and the coil on #4 to no avail. The engine light is re set and it reutrns within days.

It may or may not be related, but the vehicle is loosing oil somewhere, no leaks no smoke and I change the oil monthly at Walmart. In between, we check the dip stick and it will be so low that it is not registering on the stick. Friday we filled it up, drove to football games saturday, Sunday oil change and down 1/2 quart- Have even changed the oil pan hoping that it was leaking but still loosing oil-

Could this be a faulty engine causing this or is there somethinig obvious Im missing?

Any advice is welcome

I would have them check the compression. If it has low compression it will cause these misfires.
You might also suggest to them that they do a "leak down" test. This test will tell them if the valves or piston rings are worn.
These two tests will rule out any major engine problems. I would do them first before I checked anything further.
