Alternator quit, towed van home charged battery, van started ok. Installed new alternator today and van won't start even with jump from another car. When key turned to start lights dim but not even a click from starter.

1ST OFF.......LET'S TAKE THE BATTERY TO A POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORE TO SEE IF IT IS "GOOD" AND "CHARGED PROPERLY" (I'M TALKIN' LOAD TESTED AND SUCH..NOT JUST A VOLTAGE TEST)........THIS IS USUALLY A FREE SERVICE

......I KNOW IT MAY BE "NOT THAT OLD".....I SEE 'EM BE BAD, RIGHT OFF THE SHELF, EVER' NOW AND THEN!

KNOWING THAT IT "READY TO GO" WILL KEEP YOU FROM CHASING YOUR TAIL LATER......

................IF IT AIN'T GOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE DONE IN VAIN!

NOW, YOU CAN TRY THIS IF YOU WANT TO, BUT IF THE BATTERY IS THE PROBLEM, YOU MAY BE WASTING YOUR TIME..........LET'S READ "MY ANSWER" IN MY LINK AND SORTA DO WHAT IT SAYS!

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/1996-chevrolet-tahoe-wont-start-sounds-dead-battery-jumpbox-get-same-reults

I MADE Y'ALL SOME PICS AT THE END OF IT

IF YOU ARE SOMEWHERE NEAR THE EAST COAST, AND THEY SAY YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY, DON'T BUY A BATTERY TILL YOU LET ME KNOW!

I MAY BE ABLE TO SHOW YOU HOW SAVE YOU UP TO $4O ON A NEW ONE!........AND PICK IT UP WITHIN AN HOUR!

RETURN TO THIS POST WITH SOME KINDA NEWS!
