Will not start after battery changed

I parked the car for about six weeks while I went back to Europe.
When I came back and I tried to start the car, nothing happened.
Got a new battery and still nothing. No dashboard lights, no central lock nothing. It was working fine without any problems before I flew out.
Any ideas?

Do the headlights come on? It sounds like you have a bad connection at the battery this guide should help.
