Seemed to be running fine. I was driving the car, stopped at a stop light. Car shut off, won't start back. Went to AutoZone. Got a code reader, didn't show any codes. Got the car home, had a mechanic friend come out. Battery was dead, he tried to jump it, wouldn't jump. Said battery was bad. He also got a code for low fuel pressure. He checked, and said fuel was getting to the high-pressure fuel pump, but the spark plugs were dry. Both fuel pumps were recently replaced, so we bought a cheap high pressure fuel pump replacement. He said that was the problem. We have since replaced the high pressure fuel pump and the battery. The car still won't start. Cranks, but won't start.

Hi,

In most cases, a crank no start condition is the result of a loss of fuel or ignition spark.

Try this and let me know the results. See if it starts or tries to start using starting fluid. If it does, we still have a fuel related issue. If there is no change, check for spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

Okay, if the fuel pumps are good and it starts with starting fluid, that tells me fuel isn't being injected into the engine.

Take a look below. Note that each fuel injector has a blue wire with an orange tracer. Turn the key to the run position and check for power to those wires. Let me know the results.

Take care,

Joe
