Neutral safety switch is bad, can I bypass it?

No, that is a safety feature and we cannot advise you on defeating safety features.
Just replace the defective switch.

Not easily. That switch does more than just tell the ECM when you are in neutral or park.It could have a bad effect on the transmission. That switch is not that hard to change.
