Will not move when put into gear

When put in gear engine would stall then torque converter was replaced. Now engine runs when in gear, but does not go forward or backward. Grinding sound when attempting to shift into park.

Good afternoon.

If you hear grinding putting it into park, it sounds like the transmission is working.

Does the speedometer move up when you put it in gear?

Also, have someone look under the truck with it running and see if the driveshaft is turning.
It could be the transfer case.
