Wipers stop working intermittently

The windshield wipers stopped working. Could move the wiper arms to the upper position but not down. Started the truck and the wipers worked fine. What is causing the intermittent stopping?

Good afternoon,

Most likely it is the motor itself. When you move it by hand and then starts working, it is the motor itself. you can replace the control board.

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view. If you have a test light or voltmeter, we can do some checks when it does not work.

WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.
3. Remove the transmission from the wiper motor drive link using the J 39232.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
5. Remove the three screws and wiper motor from the vehicle.
