Hi,

I have a loud weird noise when starting my vehicle listed above, Enima (see beginning of video attached). Sounds like a cranking noise or wrong meshing noise and last for a second. Then the engine starts and run correctly (RPM okay and oil temperature rise okay). Does not seem to be linked to cold or warm engine. The solenoid contacts have been changed because signs of wear but the problem reoccurred the same day.

And bad luck, a second noise appeared, a while after engine start. Sounds like a wheel bearing noise but not sure (same video at one minute 05 seconds). You can feel the vibration under the foot when driving. The engine sounds fine. Once the sound has stop it does not happen again, until next start. I am not even sure the two are linked though.

If someone has an idea or encountered a similar issue, please help! :-)

Thanks in advance.

In complement to above, the start noise does not happen all the time ( 3/4).

Good morning.

Video is really vague on the noise.

Do you mean it is when you start driving or when you start the engine?

Can you feel it in the wheel? Does it get worse turning?

Hi Roy.

Sorry this is the best I have in term of video. The first noise happens only during starting (key on ignition position) and stops once engine has start. After that the engine runs as usual. The vibration at start is quite the same to me when it makes the noise or not.

For the second noise I think I fixed it, there were two screws missing on the radiator plastic cover and then I think the fan was interfering with it depending of road bump. Then this was a different problem not linked with first in my opinion.

Is the first noise only starter related?

I would believe so because the engine itself does not make any unusual noise after start.

Okay, it may be the starter motor making the noise.
