Water sound in dashboard when car start idling

Hi guys,

So I hear this sound of water from my dashboard after I start up my car. Duration its about +- 4 minutes. Upon investigation I understand it's a airlock in the heater core. So I just want to know did anyone experience this already? Is it something to loose sleep over? Because coolant level it's normal.

You are correct, you have a air pocket in the heater core. This is normally caused by a small leak somewhere that is allowing air into the system. It could be the heater core or it could be somewhere else. Best way to determine this is to pressure test the system and see if it can hold pressure for a while. I suspect you will not hold pressure for long and if not then we need to find where it is leaking.

So what I notice also is that my car gets like hot inside when I drive even when the heater is not on. So I guess it's because of this problem? Right

Yeah. I suspect the heater core is leaking and the air is blowing over the hot coolant. If you get the hot air again, try to smell the vents and see if they are a little sweet. That would be the coolant.

Hi,

So I moved to my old mechanic to a new one. Seems like my problem is not resolved, she find that the cooling system it has definitely got a lot of pressure so much so that the pipes swell terribly. She will do the pressure test shortly and will let me know.
Anything you guys got on this or what will be the course led to this problem?

So she just told me now the head gasket went. She will let me know about any further damages ones the cylinder head being removed.

Sorry for the delay but clearly you found it. Any time we have excess pressure in the cooling system, it is most always a head gasket.
