Hi, a friend's car had a new water pump and timing belt installed three years ago. It looks like the water pump has deteriorated and it is gushing coolant. I have a good amount of backyard experience with all types of automotive work.
Is it possible to replace the water pump (which is under the timing cover) without replacing the timing belt? The latter replacement gives me pause due to possible disastrous consequences. Thanks, Irwin

Hi,

Here is the removal procedure. It says that you have to remove the timing belt. Sorry.

If you want the process for that because you are going to try it let me know. I didn't include it now because it is a pretty lengthy process.

Let me know and I will be happy to send it over. Thanks
