My car runs hot every time I drive it. There is water in my oil cap but not the dip stick, and gunk of stuff in my radiator. What is wrong with my car?

There is gunky stuff in my radiator, I am a lady and it is hard to find honest help. I went got a oil change and it looks like muddy water in there. I drive like five miles and it begins to run hot then I shut it off.

Hello, I'm Danny.

It does sound like you have a blown/leaking head gasket. It is a common problem and can be fixed. What happens is the gasket that seals the cylinder head to the engine block is leaking allowing the engine oil and coolant to mix.It also causes overheating. The repair for parts and labor is roughly $1,000.00 depending what type of repair shop you take the car to. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
