My windshield washer petered out on me. Turns out it's a leak in the line. The tubing comes out of the pump for about two feet then there is a plastic fitting that has disintegrated. It's not just a connector. I'm thinking it might be some sort of check valve or filter, but it is not shown or identified in my shop manuals.
Does anyone know what this thing is or where I might get one? If it is just a check valve can I replace it with any check valve?

Thanks

Can you upload an image for the part in question? I believe it is just a hose connector to help during assembly, no check valve or filter.

Well, in the process of taking a picture the thing came apart and I pulled out the insert. Turns out it's a fine screen filter not a check valve. I am wondering if I could just use fuel filter if I can't find an OEM replacement.

That is a simple screen filter Ford #E5FZ17K608A. Volvo, Ford and Mercedes used inline filters like that, many others just use a filter in the fill neck of the bottle or stuck on the inlet to the pump. The rest don't use a filter because it's not real common for them to get plugged.

Thanks much, with that part number I actually found a dealer that still sells them.
