Can you change the transmission fluid yourself and if yes, how?

Yes you can and make sure you use Volvo synthetic fluid. Once you do that you will also need to reset the transmission fluid life counter or you could have transmission error messages coming up. To replace fluid just remove the drain plug underneath. Once you have dained it, plug it back up and fill through dipstick tube. Pour very slowly because it will burp right back up and make a mess.
