I have a 98 Volvo v70 wagon. Bought 6 months ago w a 131k miles. Drove ok; then started having trouble starting periodically. Also, instrument panel didnt work. Replaced dash cluster w a used part. New battery, new ignition coil. Car will not start. It tries, but no spark catches. 2 different mechanics checked and couldnt figure it out. Sugested problems were cam sensor, fuel module, compute, r turbo hose. Nothing is resolved. Took the car back after shop said it was ok. It didint start again as soon as I parked it. Then we read you can reset the system by locking and unlocking the car 6 times. That worked once, now the car wont start again.
PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately this type of problem can be very difficult to give advise on without actually checking the vehicle out? You could be having a bigger problem then what you think you have? What you need to do at this point is to have the dealership scan all the control modules for fault codes to see if there is a problem in the network or something else? Also does the problem only happen with the one key or all the keys you have?

I only have one key for this car. Twice I was able to start the car by locking and unlocking the door 6 times before trying to start. Im told this reset the immobilizer. I would love to disconnect the immobilizer if possible to see if that is the problem. Any ideas?
