My engine shakes violently

My engine shakes violently while idled, at a rest, while engaged and driving there is not a problem.

i drive a 2000 vw jetta that has 120,000 miles on it the engine size is standard.

I had the same problem, new Ignition Wire Set and new Spark Plugs, now it runs like new, don't be cheap and get good wires set but don't be stupid and go to dealership.I drive 99 jetta and I went to VW dealership and paid $150 with a discount ( org $175 ) , you can find the same wires on internet for less than $100. You learn everyday :)
