Are there other terms for this part(fan control module)? I purchased an extensive extended warranty and no one can seem to find this part covered. Is this part typically not covered? And what is it usually listed under? Electrical? Air conditioning etc? I am well aware of the woes involved in owning a vw, though I haven't had any problems. Other than this.
thanks

The correct nomenclature is RADIATOR COOLANT FAN CONTROL MODULE. It is considered an electrical component.

It is essentially a relay module, before changing this - confirm that the radiator temp switch is good and that the fans are working (accomplished disconnecting the connectors from the RCFCM and cautiously jumping the large red cable to the red/blk cable).

Please refer to a quality manual to test the temp switch.

It is located directly underneath the battery tray
