Hey Guys,

I'm having epc problems with my 2001 Jetta. I was driving down the highway on cruise control and when I went to accelerate the epc light came on and the engine shut down afterwards. Every time I try to turn it on now it would turn on fine, but after about 10 secs the epc light would come on and engine would quit. Do you guys have any idea what this is? Please help!

When the electronic power control (EPC) warning light comes on it indicates a malfunction has been noticed in the vehicle's engine load control system. When the EPC light comes on it also means that there are diagnostic trouble code(s) stored. You need to retrieve the DTC(s) and post them here so we can then help pinpoint the culprit. Most auto part stores will retrieve these codes free of charge for you.
