I live in Wisconsin and the temperature has been hovering around the single digits and below for the last couple weeks. My car will run seemingly normally when it is cold but once it warms up it will die as soon as you press the gas peddle. I have added additive that is supposed to take care of a moisture problems but it hasn't helped.

I have had problems in the past (3 to 4 months ago) with the car hesitating when accelerating at around 2000-3000 rpms but it was intermittent and never actually caused the car to die while driving it, and it eventually seemed to go away. It seems that that problem has come back with a vengeance in the last week.

The check engine light has been on since I bought the car 20,0000 miles ago. The car has always idled at about 900 rpms and will occasionally die when it is idling, but will always restart without a problem.

Any ideas?

To start your diagnosis-have the check engine light read out and comeback with the code/s Autozone provides free services on this.

Or you can have the fuel pressure and throttle postion sensor/EGR checked.
