Hello,
i have a golf 5 whose engine stops a few seconds after starting to work. The coil lights turn on when I try to start the engine again, and it does not start until I wait for a few minutes. The engine also stops while driving. I took the car to a mechanic and he told me that the problem is the injection computer and it has to be replaced. He said that this happens because there has been some water leaking on it.
what do you think?

thank you!

Hi

Hope I can help.
Firstly, is this vehicle a diesel, you mentioned the coil light coming on?
Secondly, does this happen when the weather is cold or warm.

Look forward to your reply.

The car is a diesel, 1.9 TDI, 90 hp, made in 2005.
Yes, the spark light comes on and the weather outside is cold.
We have already checked the sparks and they are ok.

Hi
Thanks for reply.

Does only the coil light come on or does the amber engine light also come on?
Has a technician carried out a scan for any stored faults in the ECU? Any fault codes that are stored will help alot to try and find the problem.
From what you describe, with the engine difficult to start and cutting out at times, it could be a faulty engine speed sender or a faulty intake flap motor.

Any other info would be very helpful!

Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the reply and for the P code.

Was there any description of the error fault that was stored with the P code?

Also, could you please supply me with the engine code for this vehicle, its the first 3 letters of the engine. This will help to try and track the P code.

Thanks!
