my son has a 93 golf ryder it will not start he has run out of feul on 3 occasions due to lack of funds (looking for work) and now it will not start, engine turns over does not appear to fire pipe from pump to carb? Gives feul pipe adjacent to that one on the carb emits feul and that pipe appears to go back to feul tank a clear pipe comes from tank to what appears to be a filter (front off side) but no feul appears, I am not a car person myself but any info would be appreciated

Probably burned out the fuel pump by running it low/out of gas often.
The fuel pump uses the fuel it is emerged in to lubricate and cool the pump. Every time the fuel is run low it damages the pump.
