1972 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Just bought a 72' super beetle, dual port, about a week ago. Ran fine for the time being until recently when I left the lights on. Now it wont start unless you push it. What could be the problem?

It sounds like the battery was weak, and when you ran it dead you killed, I know it is a pain, remove your back seat, take the battery out and take it down and and have it check.

Appreciate the response and sorry for my late response but I figured it out and did change the battery and ignition switch
