Ver hard jerk before changing gears

My 1999 Acura tl jerks really hard when changing to first gear. Hard like sudden braking. No one seems to know why, hoping I can get some useful info on what this problem may be. It jerks so hard its not drivable. Please help!

Scan for codes and check fluid if you can. If dark brown or black I suggest that you take the car to a transmission shop.

An auto parts store can do that, if there is no check engine light on then I suggest taking the car to a transmission shop, it sounds to me like a valve body/internal problem.
