Hello,

I installed the thermostat on my car, I had the battery disconnected for a while. When I started the car, I notice I was unable to rev the engine above 2,200 RPMs. The Engine light and TPS light are on, I bleed the anti-freeze for any air. The scanner is giving me some readings that are not making any scenes, the first being the throttle actuator position code P2176. From what I understand the learn procedure requires me to rev the engine to 3,000 RPMs. But, if that’s the problem, why am I unable to rev the engine above 2,200 RPMs? There are other readings, I made sure everything is connected.

Hi,

Did this all start after replacing the thermostat? I suspect the wiring or connector has been moved, damaged, or disconnected.

Do me a favor. Take a look at the diagnostics below. Let me know if you are comfortable following them. They are specific to the code you have.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
