Does anyone know where these are located on the vehicle listed above and is changing these a difficult repair?

Please tell us which engine do you have and is it AWD or FWD? Also any codes you have and symptoms. Most of them are inside the transmission and are quite a chore to change even if you have done them before, but we want to make the answer as correct as possible.

Hi Steve, it's an AWD, SEL model. No code yet, but I lost acceleration and engine revs more than it goes. When I used my Google PHD it pointed me to the sensors as a common failure and a straight forward repair. I'm not TOTALLY a car newbie as I worked in Toyota assembly plant for a decade, just a newbie with this issue and sensors. Are these located perhaps, behind the valve body?

Which engine please, they used different transmissions depending on the engine, Some the sensors are in the VB while others they are under them. In most cases the transmissions need to be removed to get to them. The normal labor time given is 21 hours.

OK the turbine sensor isn't that bad, it's under the cover on the side of the transmission, remove the lines over the cover and the senso is there with a connection that comes out of the transmission to connect to the controller. The other one though is buried under the valve body and is replaced as a single part. What are the codes you are seeing and what symptoms? Because these sensors don't share a harness or location I would doubt that both have failed at the same time. I would look for harness damage externally first. 5 minutes of chewing by a rodent can do a lot of damage.

OK thanks! No code yet, hoping this fixes the issue. When you say the side of the transmission, you talking driver side where I need to remove the air filter box or the passenger side?

What is the problem you have? Both of those sensors will set codes if they are a problem. Either circuit or signal range codes. The cover is the large one you see in this picture, should be on the front of the transaxle. You can see the input and output sensors in the exploded view.

No code yet, but I've but hooked a scanner up yet because I'm not getting a check engine light.

I lost acceleration and engine revs more than it actually makes the car move. It's intermittent. When I used my Google PHD it pointed me to the sensors as a common failure and a straight forward repair.

What scan tool? Dealer level tool or simple code reader? If you don't have a high end one I would suggest FORScan and the correct dongle. It does more than a dealer tool can do for a lot less money.

It doesn't look like it unless that image is flipped. You can see the locations in these images. There is only a connector on the outside of the transmission, the sensors are inside.

OK, need some more help. The pics I sent you earlier are looking into my engine compartment from overhead, driver side facing passenger side with the air filter box removed. I can't find any landmarks in the drawing your providing that look anything like my engine compartment fit the tss. Are those pics with the battery and tray removed? Looking up from the underbody? I can't find that cross member with the two bolts on the left either.

The sensor connection is on the opposite side of the transaxle in the pictures you took. If you follow the cooler line toward the back and look below it you will see the connector. But the sensor itself is inside the transmission.
