Started truck and engine took a bit to start but still came on. Drove truck for about 45 minutes and pulled into a gas station to use the facilities and when I came back out to the truck and tried to start it, I got full electrical and accessory power, but the engine tried its hardest to turnover and start but sputtered and tried and ultimately failed. I tried to start the engine and again got full accessory and electrical power, but the engine would try its hardest to come on and would sputter and almost turn on but never did. Checked the battery and everything looked fine and also provided power to the battery but that was not the issue and when trying to start truck the previous problem mentioned above continued. Eventually had the truck towed to my good Buddys shop.

Hi,

It sounds like the fuel pump has failed. The first thing I recommend is checking fuel pump pressure. If it is low, this can happen.

To get you started, here is a link that shows in general how it's done:

I attached the manufacturer's pressure specifications below. You will need a fuel pressure gauge to do this. Most parts stores will lend one to you.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
