Reset the anti theft system

Need to reset the anti theft system in my car. Is it possible to reset the computer on the same car or do I need to take to a dealer?

Hi Maria,

You can try this procedure but depending on what the issue is it may not work.

Lock and unlock driver side door with the key. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position but do not attempt to start and leave it there for 10 minutes. Then turn the vehicle off and then let it sit for 5 minutes or longer. Then try to start it. If this does not work then you will need to see a dealer.
