Last night when I started my car the "check engine", TRC Off and SLIP lights came on and the car would not accelerate past 1000 rpm's. Any ideas before I have it towed to a mechanic?

Hello and thanks for the question, Lou here, this sounds like there is an issue with the throttle position sensor or electronic throttle body, now a days the throttle bodies are what we call "fly by wire" where they have a motor attached and it opens and closes the throttle body on its own based on accelerator pedal input. If you can get the fault codes read with a scan tool and report here I can confirm that it is the throttle body or accelerator pedal sensor. The reason for all the faults on the dash is because it also stops throttle in the event of wheel slip so that is why there are traction lights on and the throttle is limited because the ECM cannot ensure accurate throttle position. I hope this helps. Generally its a easy repair parts can be kind of pricey. Lou
