I have a 2007 F150 with the 5.4 liter and my transmission is a 4R75E. I found another 4R75E but it's out of a 2008 Crown Victoria. My question is, will it be a direct replacement? I know the torque converter will have to be from a 5.4 engine but not sure of any other issues doing a swap like this. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the components inside the unit and case are exactly the same so you will not have any issues.

Here is a video that does a pretty good job explaining the differences but again, if you are sticking with the 75E then you are just fine:

I was also told then when I asked someone else the same question. Measure the tailshafts, one may be shorter than the other. To swap tailshafts the whole transmission has to come apart. The shift lever is in different locations, that's a bit easier to swap. Is this something I need to check on? And just to make sure the transmission code on the sticker in the driver side door jamb is Q. That would mean I have a 4R75E correct?

I'm trying to find out what years of the 4R75E 2wd transmission will be a direct replacement/plug and play on my truck listed above. And does it matter what Ford vehicle the 4R75E comes out of. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Looking at the interchange it needs to come out of a 2007 or early 2008 F-150 or the Lincoln Mark LT. The E-150/250 transmission for 2005-2008 will work as well if it has the same engine and the PKF-FJ, GJ tag. No other years have the correct internals.
