Have some issues with a delay in shifting on my vehicle listed above. When I shift from first to second, there is a delay in shifting until I get to 1,000 RPMs then if shifts. Also have this issue in third gear. Trying to figure out if it is a small transmission problem or something else.

Thanks!

The most likely cause is a fluid issue however, it could be something more complicated.

So, let's start with checking the fluid and making sure it is not low or in poor condition.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-and-add-transmission-fluid

If it is, then we need to change the fluid so here is a guide that will help with this as well.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-service-an-automatic-transmission

I am attaching the process from the manual below as well.

If this is not the issue, then we may need to get further into the transmission and inspect for a pressure issue.

Let me know what you find. Thanks

Thank you for the response! Fluid is good. I think you are correct it is a pressure related issue. I would appreciate guidance on how to check the pressure on it. Thanks

Okay. If the fluid is find, then we need to use this process below to check the pressure. There are ports on the side of the unit that will allow you to tap into the circuit to see what the pressure is.

Then there is a chart that will show you what the pressure should be in each gear.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks
